Forge Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing education, women’s economic empowerment, and community development through concrete, community-driven action. We work locally and globally to equip underserved populations—particularly women and youth—with the tools, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive.
Forge Together was born from a vision shaped by experience.
In the early 2000s, we witnessed firsthand the resilience, ambition, and untapped potential of young African women. Despite their drive and capability, many faced systemic barriers—limited access to quality education, lack of economic opportunities, and restricted global mobility.
Our initial response was to create a for-profit initiative aimed at connecting these young professionals to higher education institutions in the United States. The goal was to equip them with leadership, technical, and specialized skills they could bring back to strengthen their communities.
However, rising educational costs and increasingly restrictive immigration policies made this pathway inaccessible for many.
Yet the need remained urgent.
Rather than pause, we evolved.
Forge Together was established as a nonprofit to deliver practical, immediate, and sustainable solutions directly within communities. Today, we focus on building local capacity, strengthening resilience, and creating pathways for long-term impact.
